The ENOUGH Philosophy - The Art of Feeling ENOUGH Good, Loved and Valued

La philosophie SUFFISAMMENT - L'art de se sentir SUFFISAMMENT bien, aimé et valorisé

My psychologist mother often told me about the notion of the good enough mother by the British psychoanalyst and pediatrician Donald W. Winnicott.

He says that a mother doesn't have to be perfect, just be a good enough mother. Give her baby enough care, love and security. And that will be enough for the child to feel loved and safe.

Being a young mother, it spoke to me a lot, but above all it helped to reduce the pressure that social media put on me demanding that I be perfect.

Social Media and its Negative Impact

I felt like Instagram and Facebook were projecting to me the image that all lives seemed perfect.

Perfect photos, perfect date nights, perfect trips, perfect Montessori playrooms, perfect breastfeeding photos, perfect baby meals, etc.

I then began to attach a lot of importance to this concept, but especially to the word SUFFICIENTLY.

I discovered through this word a comfort, a relief and a lightness.

The word has taken on a dimension in my mind. In my daily life.

The Birth of the ENOUGH Philosophy

The ENOUGH philosophy gradually made its way into me.

I realized that ENOUGH could be applied to all areas of our lives. Job, children, spouse, housework, sports, going out, friends, meals, etc.

That this is the recipe for balance. The recipe for happiness in my opinion.

ENOUGH, when you think about it, is just enough benefits without the drawbacks of perfectionism.

I thought that I was probably not the only one who felt overwhelmed by the image of perfection.

So I decided to open a Facebook and Instagram page to share my works and thoughts.

Works that made me reconnect with my passion for art, but also made me take time for myself when the children were in bed.

Through my reflections, I explain to those around me how to apply it SUFFICIENTLY in all areas of their lives.

To achieve a better balance.

To accept an imperfect life.

To accept that we can't experience everything.

To see happiness in small things.

To positively influence people's perception.

To accept yourself with your imperfections. 💗

My goal is to create a community, a movement where everyone can feel good and appreciated at their true value.

Where everyone can celebrate the beauty in the ordinary. In their little routine. In the boring bits of everyday life.

To counter this FOMO ENOUGH, this fear of missing out on everything. Of missing out on something. Of missing out on your life and forgetting to live it ENOUGH.

Because deep down, all we want is that at 80, we will have ENOUGH precious memories with the people we loved in our life.
